Attorney Silva represents employees and students in Title IX gender or sex discrimination, harassment, and retaliation cases throughout the State of Florida. Attorney Silva has represented students with Title IX claims against high schools, vocational schools, and universities and has represented professors, teachers and, coaches with claims against universities and high schools. Attorney Silva regularly blogs about Title IX sex discrimination issues and contributed to a book on pregnancy discrimination regarding Title IX and pregnancy.
Attorney Silva also represents employees in employment discrimination and Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) cases; homeowners and tenants in housing discrimination cases under the Fair Housing Act; customers and patrons in cases of discrimination in places of public accommodation; and students in race and national origin discrimination cases. Attorney Silva was the 2009-2010 President of the Florida Chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association (FL NELA) and is the 2011-2012 President-Elect/Treasurer of the Thomas S. Biggs American Inns of Court.
